“The science and study of color have many ramifications, but no aspect is more fascinating than the art of printing.”
(Preface of Color by Overprinting, Donald E. Cooke, 1955)
To enter the void is not to vanish, but to step beyond the furniture of certainty. It is the moment when the scaffolding of thought collapses, and silence becomes the only architecture. The void is not empty— it is full of potential, pregnant with the unborn, fertile with the nameless. It is the pause before creation, the breath before the word, the darkness from which all light remembers its origin. To resist it is to cling to illusions, to names, to roles, to mirrors. To enter it is to dissolve— not in despair, but in release. The self, once thought solid, becomes fluid, like ink dispersing in water, like stars scattering into galaxies. In the void, fear and freedom are twins. The fear: that nothing of you will remain. The freedom: that nothing of you needs to remain. To enter the void is to discover that emptiness is not absence, but presence unmeasured, the field where being and non-being fall into one another, like shadows merging at nightfall. Step gently. Step boldly. The void does not consume you— it reveals you.
