Benjamin Badock’s new catalogue shows the series »Aufstellung« – 25 original prints that Badock has been working on since 2013. Benjamin Badock (*1974, Chemnitz) uses the geometric basic forms to assemble the »types« of his »Aufstellung« (line-up) – among others a mushroom picker, an art lover and a dog owner. His portraits ressemble architectural structures, they are assembled following a construction plan using wooden modules to print from. Benjamin Badock tries to reduce his characters to just enough attributes to find a functional equivalent in the spectators visual memory. Combinable in countless possible ways the number of available forms to choose from is limited which reveals the portraits individualism to be a mere construct.
